About Viking Hotel
Newport, Rhode Island
Newport is located on Aquidneck Island in Newport County, Rhode Island. It is about 30 miles from Providence. Newport is home to approximately 25,000 residents.
Newport is known as a New England summer resort. It is also well known for its famous Newport Mansions. It also is contains among the highest number of surviving colonial buildings of any United States city.
The Viking Hotel Information:
The Hotel Viking opened in May of 1926. At this time, two extravagant parties were held to celebrate. One of the parties was held for the workers and the other was held for the general public.
In 2007, the original Hotel Viking guest rooms were extensively renovated.
Ghosts and the Paranormal at the Viking Hotel in Newport, Rhode Island:
Staff and guests report hearing disembodied sounds of a party going on near the back of the hotel, in an area that is not in use above the guest rooms.
