Anamosa is the county seat of Jones County, Iowa. It is a small community of about 6,000 people.

Lone Tree behind Holy Cross Cemetery Haunting:

The Holy Cross Cemetery is located northwest of Anamosa, Iowa. From Anamosa, drive west on West Main Street to North Iowa Street. Then, turn north onto Sage Street. Follow Sage Street to the Holy Cross Cemetery.

There is, according to reports, a lone tree that stands behind a large cluster of trees behind the Holy Cross Cemetery. This lone tree, locals claim, was the site of a number of hangings AND an indian burial ground. Visitors report seeing shadowy figures at this location as well as capturing orbs in photographs.
